1953 Jaeger-LeCoultre Vintage Mens Modernist Dress Watch - 14K Gold

Jaeger-LeCoultre

Item No. 8215SH

Long ago Jaeger-LeCoultre built their reputation as masters of watch design. In the 1950's, Jaeger-LeCoultre crafted a group of very distinctive dress watches just for the American market.

The very fine and classic modernist wristwatch showcased in today's offering is one of these watches. From the thin gold case with stepped Florentine bezel, to the textured bracelet and timelessly styled dial with retro markers, it showcases classic sophistication throughout.

As fine on the inside as the outside, it is powered by Jaeger-LeCoultre's caliber 818 handwound movement. So advanced and well engineered is this exceptional caliber that its components were used by Vacheron & Constantin and Breguet (see comparative image of the two movements below).

It is original and presents in gorgeous condition. The only replacement part is the crown, which is a correct signed replacement.

Its untouched original dial is mint. Its midsized 14K gold case presents in mint condition. Its original integrated JL bracelet presents in mint condition. And its high-grade movement is near pristine.

The gold weight of the watch is 39.9 grams (25.7 dwt)

One of our watchmakers has disassembled it down to its last screw and cleaned and oiled it and installed a new mineral glass crystal. It is keeping extremely accurate time.

For the finishing touch we have meticulously detailed it making it ready for immediate enjoyment.

Included with the purchase is a one-year international warranty on the movement and its function, a custom printed Connoisseur of Time Certificate of Authenticity, and a new timing certificate.
